First aid kits

The reference framework remains the Ministerial Decree of January 18, 2016, supplemented by the Decree of March 10, 2022 (effective June 1, 2022), which implements EU Directive 2019/1834 and updates equipment, waterproof packaging, and the list of medications. First aid kits continue to be divided into four tables, but for recreational boating and sport fishing, they are primarily relevant:

Table D – mandatory on private pleasure craft sailing beyond 12 miles from the coast and for fishing within 12 miles.

Table A – required for pleasure boats for charter or with professional crew without distance limits, for fishing up to 40 miles and for coastal passenger transport (BCD classes).

For cruises within 12 miles, a generic “basic” kit is sufficient , while beyond this limit the corresponding certified kit (Table D or A) is required, complete with medicines and devices updated to the 2022 decree sheets.
