Collection: Boat fuel filters

A fuel decanter filter is a crucial component for protecting marine engines from damage caused by impurities or water in the fuel. This type of filter, essential for both outboard and inboard engines, physically separates water from the gasoline or diesel fuel, thus ensuring a clean and safe fuel supply to the engine.

There are models external to the engine, installed along the fuel line, which are widely used on boats with separate tanks or multiple engines, and internal models integrated directly into the engine system, ideal for compact installations. The operating principle is simple but effective: thanks to the difference in density, the water settles in the lower part of the filter, usually equipped with a transparent glass that allows for visual inspection and quick draining.

A properly installed and maintained decanter filter reduces the risk of malfunctions, improves performance while cruising and contributes to the longevity of the marine engine.
